AOHVA is a membership-driven organization. This Privacy Statement explains our privacy practices for our members, prospective members and web site visitors. In this Privacy Statement the terms “we” and “our” refer to AOHVA.

At AOHVA, we are committed to protecting and respecting the privacy of our members and our web site visitors. For that reason we have taken, and will continue to take, measures that protect the privacy of personal information held by us.

 

This Privacy Statement provides you with details regarding: (1) why we collect personal information; (2) what we do with that information; (3) the steps that we take to ensure that access to that information is secure; (4) how you can access personal information pertaining to you; and (5) who you should contact if you have questions and concerns about our policies or practices.

 

We regularly review our policies and practices and your comments are always welcome. Additionally, we reserve the right to change this Privacy Statement at any time. We will alert you that changes have been made by indicating at the top of the Privacy Statement the date that it was last updated. Personal information means information that would identify a specific individual or information that can be directly associated with an individual.

We do not automatically gather any personal information of visitors to our website; visitors may voluntarily choose share their personal information as they “join” us or make a donation.

 

AOHVA reserves the right to collect and perform statistical analysis of the Internet traffic of the AOHVA website for its internal use. This information does not provide Common Sense with any personal information of the visitor.

As part of our business operations, we use the personal information of our members to facilitate effective communications and to process any requests.

AOHVA will not share your personal information with third parties; we do not sell, rent, share or disclose the personal information we hold or make our membership list available to others.

 

However, we may disclose personal information if a law, regulation, search warrant, subpoena or court order requires us to do so.

Personal information is retained only for as long as is necessary for the purpose set out above. When it is no longer required, we will destroy, erase or de-personalize the information.

We will continue to keep in place security measures in an effort to protect the personal information held by us from unauthorized use, access, disclosure, distribution, loss or alteration. Access to personal information will be restricted to our authorized personnel who require the information in order to perform their duties properly; limiting access to only the information that is necessary for the performance of those duties.

Our members are entitled to access the personal information held by us concerning them. You can access your personal information by sending an email to us. We will respond as quickly as possible.

The Site contains text, data, information graphics, photos, logos, icons, trade-marks, and other content (“Site Content”) furnished by AOHVA. You acknowledge that the Site Content is for general information purposes only

You may not use this Site for any improper purpose; the Site may be used only for authorized purposes by users who have agreed to these Terms. The Site Content is owned by AOHVA and its licensors, and is protected under copyright and trade-mark laws and other intellectual property laws of Canada and other nations. AOHVA does not, by these Terms, claim any ownership rights in any User Content submitted through the Site. AOHVA will maintain confidentiality in any confidential portions of User Content. AOHVA’s obligations of confidentiality do not extend to any User Content. NOTE: Personal information is not considered to be User Content, and is addressed in our Privacy Policy.

The Site does not constitute an invitation for unsolicited submissions by you of your own products, materials, ideas, projects. You are making any such submissions of your own User Content because of your interest in AOHVA’s role. By submitting any User Content to AOHVA, you acknowledge and agree that AOHVA has various initiatives underway and any one of may contain elements that are, or appear to be, similar to your User Content.
